Types of washes:

Type 1 - A customer-specified potable water rinse between loads of the same product: This is only a potable water rinse and is only used for a small amount of customers.

Type 2 - Water-Based Products: Tankers previously hauling water-based food products. A Type 2 washout consists of a potable water washout, following by a high-temperature cleaning cycle, and finished with a low-temp sanitizing rinse.

Type 3 & 4 - Water and Oil Mixtures & Oil-Based Products: Tankers previously hauling water/oil or oil-based food products or where previous load carried foods with potential allergenic risks. A type 3/4 washout consists of a potable water washout, a high-temperature degreasing cycle, a high-temperature cleaning cycle, and finishes with a low-temp sanitizing rinse.

Type 5 - Special cleaning guidelines for certain ingredients and Kosher: Type 5 tanker washouts consist of a potable waster washout, a high-temperature degreasing cycle, a high-temperature cleaning cycle, high-temperature potable water cycle, and finally a low-temp sanitizing rinse.
